Social workers, social care practitioners, local authorities and NHS trusts may think they know the Care Act 2014 inside out, but case law and complaints to the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman over the last few years indicate otherwise.

Meanwhile, the numbers of safeguarding concerns received by councils and the number of section 42 enquiries are rising year on year.

This is all at a time when local authority budgets are under strain and difficult – and sometimes unlawful – decisions are being made about the level of support that people are provided with to meet their needs.

Sign up for our Care Act legal masterclass to ensure any decisions you make in relation to this piece of legislation are legally compliant.

The event provides a rare opportunity to hear from four experienced lawyers in one day and follows a series of successful legal masterclasses hosted by Community Care over the past two years in Manchester and London looking at the legal complexities and updates around mental capacity, mental health and adult safeguarding.
